I learned something new!

I’m so happy. I learned something new! I’ve been crocheting since I was four, so you wouldn’t think I could learn anything more about crochet right? Wrong! I don’t think I will ever live long enough to learn everything there is to know about anything. But I digress. Back to what I learned. When I was four, my great grandmother taught me to put the yarn on the hook with a slip stitch and over the years that’s what I’ve seen other people do. But last night I came across a video where this lady starts her chain by doing this twisty thing instead of a slip stitch. It looked kinda neat so I decided to try it just to see. I like it a LOT. It stays put well and it doesn’t leave a knot in my work the way the slip stitch does. Here’s a link to the video clip so you can check it out for yourself.

Craft Room

I’m working into turning my bedroom into a bedroom/craft room. I’ve gone for years without having a craft area and it’s made things difficult, because other people in this house who will remain nameless. have a habit of moving my project supplies around. I had to completely give up sewing because of it. Hopefully once I’m done that will change.

I have a new doll.

My sweetie got me a new doll today. It’s a cute 14" for me to make cloths for. This one is Mexican and has the prettiest color golden brown eyes. She’s wonderfully cuddly and smells just like PLAYDOUGH! I would have LOVED to have had her to play with when I was a little girl. She’s a nice size to carry around. Big enough to be huggable, but not so big that she would get in the way.

Now, let’s see what kinds of patterns I can find for her. More dolly fun! Yea!! ;-D

Playing With Dolls

I’ve been having so much fun lately playing with dolls. LOL! No, I’m not actually playing house with them, but I am having fun. I’ve been making lots of doll cloths. I’ve really been getting into it. I started out making more cloths for my daughters little 5" lots to love babies, but then I bought a 7.5" mini La NewBorn for myself. Here’s some of the cloths I’ve been making.

Cell Phone Purse
