I got a fantastic price on them and even got free shipping.

The reason I got them is because my arthritis has been bothering me so much lately and I’ve heard the the soft touch hooks helped with that. I’ve had a chance to use them (I made my sons blue monkey using one) so I thought I would give my review of them.

My first thought was. why do they call them soft touch? I was expecting a rubberized handle, but it’s not. The handle is made of a lightly textured hard plastic.

I found them extremely comfortable to hold and work with. They are light weight and they don’t get as cold as aluminum crochet hooks without the handle. That’s pretty nice for my arthritic joints. So I’m not in the slightest bit disappointed in them, just not really understanding the name "soft touch".

Something I wasn’t expecting is how nice the hook part is. I have been using a boyd crochet hook to make the monkeys with and I was having a lot of problems with my hook catching as I was pulling stitches through. I would have to slow down and be a lot more careful to keep it from happening. I wasn’t having that problem with the clover hooks though. It was so nice. I was able to complete the monkey I made with the clover hook in half the time it took me to finish the other two with the boyd hook, and that’s saying something, because I learned how to crochet using boyd hooks and I’ve been using them every since I was four years old. So I think I know what I’m doing. I have couple susan bates hooks that don’t catch as often as my boyd, but they don’t have the comfy handle the soft touch hooks have.

Well, I guess that’s my two cents. If your a crocheter, I definitely recommend getting one of these to try out for your self.
