I finished the bears

I’ve finished both of the teddy bears for my sons. (thank goodness) I was worried I wouldn’t be able to finish all of my projects in time, but I seem to be on track. I know I will at the very least be able to finish my mother in-laws socks, and if I have time do another teddy bear for my husbands little cousin. I’m pretty sure my little cousin will have to wait until after Christmas to get hers, but that is ok. She is still just a baby and so she wont realize it came late. Besides, she is the youngest in the family, so she gets LOTS of presents from EVERY ONE.

Not all patterns are created equally

Not all patterns are created equally! I spent a day and a half on the first teddy bear pattern I was working on, and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t get it to come out right. I found another one and tried it out and the teddy bear came out right the first time I tried. The second one was just so much more user friendly! I think I’m going to be able to finish what I need to before Christmas! 😀

Here is the link to the pattern I used if anybody wants it. They also have a little girl version.

Teddy Bear Pattern

I had to take a break. I’m getting so disgusted with this teddy bear pattern I trying to do. I’ve worked on it for a day and a half now and still can’t get it right. I think I’m going to give up on it for now, and see if I can find something else to make the boys. I’m not giving up on it entirely, but I clearly just don’t have the time it’s going to take for me to figure it out. Not and have two done by Christmas. I’m going to check a free pattern website and see what I can find there.

Doll bed/bag

This is what I’ve made for my daughter for Christmas. My great grandmother made me something very similar when I was a little girl.

The pattern is out of itsy bitsy babies and their bassinet purses by Annie Potter. I ordered the book from Annie’s Attic. This is something you need to have experience with reading patterns. The items are very sweet, but there are very few pictures in the book, and they are small and hard to see.

When I received the book in the mail, and opened it up, I actually became nervous about weather or not I would be able to do it, but I have had some experience with patterns, and decided that I had paid for the book, and didn’t want to waste my money, so I would at least give it a try. I’m glad I did. I think it turned out well, and it has given me the courage to try more things.

Fits Perfectly

My mother in-law came over the other day, and I had her try on the sock I made her. It fits perfectly!

So as soon as I finish the Christmas gifts for my kids, I’ll make the other one.
